WestsideBArk! services the SW communities of Calgary; including Aspen, Artist View, Christie Park Estates, Coach Hill, Cougar Ridge, Discovery Ridge, Elbow Valley, EVW, Pinebrook, Prominence-Patterson Hill, Sienna Hills, Signal Hill, Signature Park, Lower Springbank, Springbank Hill, Strathcona, The Slopes, Wentworth and West Springs!  

Depending on where you are located on our pick/drop off route, your dog will be out of the house for approximately 1.5 - 3.5 hours.  As there are a number of factors that can interfere with our timing throughout the day (traffic, weather conditions, walk preparation, dog behavior etc.) we cannot guarantee a specific pick up/drop off time.   

Yes and No. Walks will take place in any weather condition with the exception of inclement weather and during the summer months where air quality alerts are in effect due to wildfire smoke. In these extreme cases, walks may be shortened and/or rescheduled for your pet’s safety at the sole discretion of WestsideBArk. 

The dogs are transported in a climate-controlled van.

For our safety and the safety of the other dogs in our care, we require that your dog meets the following criteria:

• All vaccinations are current and up to date
• Exhibit positive social behaviours with other dogs and people
• Must be spayed or neutered (if older than 10 months of age)
• Have a valid license on their collar as required by the City of Calgary
• Not have any aggressive tendencies towards other dogs or people

WestsideBArk has a zero tolerance policy of any aggression or aggressive behaviour shown towards any other animals or humans. To ensure the safety of the other dogs, the public, and WestsideBArk, we cannot accept dogs with aggressive tendencies on our group on/off-leash walks and/or hikes. 

Typically, you will provide a key or door code.  During, the Covid-19 pandemic, if you are working from home, we will do a curbside pick-up to limit indoor face to face interaction.

WestsideBArk warrants to keep safe and confidential all keys, remote control entry devices, access codes and personal information of the Pet Owner and to return same to the Pet Owner at the end of the service period or immediately upon demand.

Cancellations must be provided 24 hours in advance of service. Failure to provide 24 hours notice will result in full charge for the walk. 

If your pet is not home when we arrive for pick up, a day rate will be charged. 

There is no charge for cancellations outside of 24 hours.

WestsideBArk shall not be held responsible for the loss, injury or death of any pet. The Pet Owner and WestsideBArk are aware that the highest level of care will be given to any and all pets under the care of WestsideBArk. 

Pet Owners should be aware that dogs are instinctual in nature and not always controllable even when the highest level of care is provided.

In the event of an emergency, WestsideBArk shall contact the Pet Owner at the numbers provided to confirm the Pet Owner's choice of action.

If the Pet Owner cannot be reached timeously, WestsideBArk is authorized to: 

i. Transport the dog(s) to the listed veterinarian; 

ii. Request on-site treatment from a veterinarian; 

iii. Transport the dog(s) to an emergency clinic if the previous two options are not feasible.
