With her love for animals, and entrepreneurial drive, Jill set-forth to start a dog walking and pet services company where she could provide her clients with an exceptional level of care and attention. Jill has immersed herself in the world of all things dogs. She is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, and is certified in Canine Communication, Pet Psychology, NAVC Pet Nutrition Coach - Canine Nutrition, Pet First Aid & CPR, Heroes for Healthy Pets Infectious Disease Management, Instinct Dog Training Leash Reactivity and Canine Enrichment & Mental Stimulation. Additionally, she has attended numerous obedience and training classes with her own dogs over the years and hours of lectures on holistic dog care from some of the worlds leading holistic veterinarians and nutritionists. Jill earned her CPCN (Certified Professional Canine Nutritionist) designation in raw and fresh food feeding in December 2024.
Jill and her working-line Labrador, Ellie, began competing in Scent Detection in 2023, earning their first title in early 2024 with a 1st place finish. They have since titled through Advanced and Excellent levels with multiple 1st place placements and are currently working toward their Championship title while training at the Elite level. They have recently expanded their competitive work into the North American Sport Dog Association (NASDA) as part of their continued development in advanced detection sport.
Jill was accepted into the IACP-CDT program in 2024 and completed her case studies in October 2025 to earn her certified professional dog trainer designation. In March 2025, Jill successfully completed intensive coursework in Natural Sciences, focusing on Neurobiology (how the brain processes information and regulates behaviour), Genetics, and Endocrinology, earning her certification for application in canine behaviour modification and training. Through advanced studies in canine brain structure, learning processes, hormone-driven behaviour, stress resilience, fear, anxiety, and aggression, Jill deepened her understanding of how dogs think, learn, and respond to their environment. Her expertise allows her to apply cutting-edge, science-backed strategies to training and behaviour modification, helping dogs and their owners build stronger, more harmonious relationships. She also has had the opportunity to work with one of her own dogs with a highly sought after International celebrity dog trainer and canine educator from New York, USA, who is one of the biggest names in the dog training business. The experience was invaluable and brought an extensive amount of knowledge to pass on to her clients. Jill also shadowed trained with another world renowned dog trainer in the USA in June of 2024 focusing on dog training for behavioural challenges and rehabilitation.
Prior to this venture, Jill spent over 17 years working in Calgary's Corporate Sector. In the early 2000's, Jill worked for a global law firm in Human Resources. She then decided to make the move over to the Energy Sector where she spent over 10+ years working on the financial and technical side specializing in assets and divestitures with both smaller boutique companies and global banking giants, in their Capital Markets division.
Jill was born and raised in British Columbia, her love of the outdoors and mountains is hardwired into her soul. She has been a life-long dog owner and she loves to spend her spare time in the mountains camping and hiking with her own pups, Zoë, Ellie and Sasha.
WestsideBArk! was established in 2017.

Zoë is a 9 year old Labrador Retriever with relentless drive and a deep love for the outdoors. An avid hiker and powerful swimmer, she approaches every adventure with intensity and enthusiasm. Her love of water runs deep. Despite her years, Zoë still moves and trains with the energy of a much younger dog. She is fiercely loyal to her family, deeply affectionate at home, and always ready for the next outing, whether that’s hunting for the perfect stick at the park or making a determined trip to the refrigerator.
Zoë is more than a companion. She is Jill’s heart dog and the inspiration behind WestsideBark! Her strength, resilience, and bold spirit shaped the foundation of this business and continue to influence its standards today. She proudly holds the honorary title of Chief BArketing Officer and leads with drive, presence, and unmistakable enthusiasm.

Ellie is a 6 year old working-line Labrador Retriever (though still a little pup in her mom’s eyes) and proudly serves as her mom’s working demo dog. She’s a classic Lab, much like her older sister, Zoë — endlessly enthusiastic, highly food-motivated, and always keeping her mom on her toes. When she’s not training, Ellie loves swimming for sticks and remains slightly obsessed with squirrels.
Training is simply part of daily life for Ellie. As a true working line dog at heart, she trains and competes in K9 scent detection and is currently working at the Elite level. She is titled in Started, Advanced, and Excellent (SD-S-SP, SD-A, SD-E-SP) with the Sporting Detection Dogs Association (SDDA), earning 1st place with Special Designation (SP) and top overall times/scores in both the Started and Excellent levels. Ellie and Jill are currently working toward their SDDA Championship title and have recently expanded their competitive training into the North American Sport Dog Association (NASDA) as part of their continued development in advanced detection sport.
Despite her impressive résumé, Ellie remains social, steady, and dependable; proudly holding the honorary title of WestsideBark’s Vice Pup (VP) of Social Strategy!

Sasha is an 9 year old Mini Schnauzer who started off as a WestsideBArk! client and was lovingly adopted into our family in October 2021. Since joining our family, Sasha has embraced the pack life - especially her two sisters. Sasha loves to camp and has become her Mom's paddleboarding buddy. She loves her new family, sniffing the floors for crumbs and snuggling on any open lap. Sasha was appointed WestsideBArk's Pup Patrol!

Chad assists Jill during training sessions, providing hands-on support to ensure both dogs and their owners get the most out of their learning experience.
